Argentina has 2,800 hectares of blueberry plantations mainly distributed in Tucuman, Entre Rios, and Buenos Aires. There are also crops in Salta, Santa Fe, Corrientes, and Misiones.
Annual production already amounts to 18,000 tons, 95% of which is exported to the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe.
95% of Argentina's blueberries are exported as fresh fruit, approximately 2% is reserved for the local market, and the remaining 3% goes to industrialization for the production of raisins, frozen fruits, juices, jams, ice cream pastes, yogurt, and pastries.
Last year, Argentina made its first export of blueberries to China.
Argentina is one of the main global players in the production of blueberries, with a large export presence, national geography that makes it possible to have a counter-season crop, which allows it to supply these products when production is low in the Northern Hemisphere.
