"Chinese demand for Disney's late-season Navel oranges exceeds supply"

Any trader would leap at the opportunity to obtain permission from Disney to feature a world famous cartoon on the packaging of their products. The cartoon immediately raises the overall product value. Disney naturally has high standards for the products that are allowed to feature their cartoon figures, because poor-quality products would damage their brand. One of these admirable companies with permission to feature a Disney cartoon is Shanghai Nongfu Fruits Co., Ltd. This company has sold coconuts featuring Disney cartoons since 2017 and continued to push this product in 2018. This year Nongfu Fruits introduced another product.

Jiang Mengxi of Nongfu Fruits explained: "We successfully promoted our coconuts with Disney cartoons on the packaging last year, and this year we introduce a new project. We will sell late-season Navel oranges with Disney cartoons on the packaging. The oranges in the Disney packaging are produced in China. The production season of Chinese Navel oranges is approaching the final stage, and our processing factories halt operations soon after. As for retail, the market conditions are quite good this year. Market feedback shows that Disney packaging sells better than other packaging. There is high market demand for those products."

"We have 3 kg and 5 kg Disney packaging, which are around 2-3 yuan [0.29-0.43 USD] per 0.5 kg more expensive than oranges in regular packaging. The overall product quality of late-season Navel oranges is quite good this year. The oranges are only transported in small volumes but their overall sales volume is impressive. We are actively searching for retail partners in north China, northwest China, Yangzi River Delta, and south China. This is the first year that we sell late-season Navel oranges in Disney packaging, so we are still in the promotional test-phase. We are pleased to see great market demand for this product. We will our new plan for next year based on market feedback from this year. We are quite optimistic about the market prospect in the coming years based on current retail conditions."
