Jersey Royal Company invests in new packaging line with PerfoTec Technology

The Jersey Royal Company produces up to 20,000 tonnes of their famous new potatoes every year, with the entire harvest sold in the UK. The company supplies UK retailers, wholesalers and processors.

Andrzej Kopacz, Packhouse Manager “Our investments in packing facilities have allowed more potatoes to be washed and packed at source, improving both quality and shelf life for all our customers".

In response to increased demand for washed product, JRC has invested this year in a new packing line, on which a new PerfoTec laser will be installed. The early potato season in Jersey runs from April to July. With this investment, JRC will be more easily able to guarantee a maximum shelf-life for the consumer. The unique PerfoTec system enables JRC to react in a timely manner to changes in respiration due to, for example, weather conditions.

Since 2016, The Jersey Royal Company has been using the PerfoTec Respiration Control System with online PerfoTec lasers on all packaging lines to market the famous Jersey Royal new potatoes. The Jersey Royal Company cultivates 1800 hectares of land annually with approximately 450 employees.
