"The kiwi fruit we are currently selling comes from storage. The price is somewhat higher than before. We expect the supply season from storage to last until April. "The overall kiwi fruit production volume decline last year as a result of cold weather in early spring that affected many kiwi fruit production areas. In some areas more than 50% of the harvest was lost. After a comprehensive survey of the kiwi fruit market we can conclude that our retail volume increased this spring in comparison with the same period last year. However, the additional demand around the Chinese Spring Festival [February 5th, 2019] was not as clear cut for kiwi fruit as it was for apples and tangerines."

"The volume of kiwi fruit imported to the Chinese market has increased in recent years, but imported kiwi fruit only poses a limited threat to our market share. The supply season of some imported kiwi fruit alternates with our supply season, for example kiwi fruit imported from New Zealand. Other imported kiwi fruit is more expensive than ours, for example kiwi fruit imported from Australia. The price of our kiwi fruit is more or less the same as kiwi fruit imported from Chile."

"We have open-field plantations in Xi'an City and the surrounding production areas. The main varieties that we produce are Cuixiang and Xuxiang. We sell our kiwi fruit through traditional retail channels and e-commerce platforms. We sell our kiwi fruit under our own registered brand 'Zhenyu' in wholesale markets and supermarkets in first- and second-tier cities throughout China. We have not yet exported our kiwi fruit, but we have plans to do so in the near future. We are currently testing the water in the Russian market."
