Pace International, an innovative and sustainable postharvest company, has launched its new high-shine, edible coating, PrimaFresh® 606 GL during this year’s PMA Fresh Summit in Orlando, FL.
PrimaFresh® 606 GL, is based on Carnauba, a natural vegetable lipid extracted from sustainably-managed palm tree plantations and is made with natural and food-grade ingredients. “Carnauba-based edible films provide excellent dehydration and respiration control when applied to harvested fruits, significantly extending the fruits freshness, eye appeal and shelf life,” said David Felicetti, Pace’s Research and Development Manager. Additional features of PrimaFresh® 606 GL include excellent fruit coverage and performance in a broad range of packing line configurations, it has fast-drying properties, and delivers a long-lasting gloss in both storage and on the shelf.
Pace is focused on bringing technologically advanced solutions to the market that not only help maintain the freshness and nutritional quality of fruits and vegetables but products and systems that also help to reduce food waste along the supply chain. “Sustainable solutions like PrimaFresh® 606 GL work to meet the diverse production and global compliance requirements of our customers in some of the most important markets and regions in the world. Pace’s involvement in PMA’s Fresh Summit demonstrates our commitment to the produce industry and our customers,” said Rodrigo Cifuentes, VP Marketing and Business Development of Pace International.
