Retailer of the Year: Consumers put Lidl at #1 position

Lidl is Germany's most popular discount store

Whether on price, quality or service: Lidl performs on a permanent basis and was voted "Dealer of the Year" for the tenth time in a row. In this year's vote, the company took first place in the "Discounters" category. This again shows how satisfied consumers in Germany are with the retail company from Neckarsulm.

"We are pleased that our customers have so consistently honored our ranges and our services and have once again voted us the most popular discounter," says Jan Bock, Manager of Purchasing at Lidl Germany.

Golden crown
For 2018/2019, Lidl will also receive the "Retailer of the Year" quality logo, with the familiar golden crown. More than 220,000 consumers took part in the "Dealer of the Year" election from 15 May to 3 September 2018. They rated more than 350 retail chains and online stores in 36 categories.

Consumers took into account ten criteria: price-performance ratio, promotions and offers, product quality, product range, competence, customer friendliness, service, shopping experience and atmosphere, accessibility and advertising promises.

Online Trade & Sustainability
As part of the Schwarz group of companies based in Neckarsulm, Lidl is one of the leading companies in the food retail sector in Germany and Europe. Lidl is currently present in 30 countries and operates around 10,500 branches in 28 countries worldwide. The offer of the Lidl online shop has been constantly expanded in recent years and currently comprises about 30,000 items. In addition, Lidl assumes responsibility for society and the environment and is focusing on sustainability.
