A calmer atmosphere on the Dutch markets last week, with the bulk of real transactions between €25 and €30/qt. Industrial buyers keep their prices between €25 and €27/qt in main varieties, and between €26 and €28/qt in more specific varieties. Large batches and/or with length get €1 or €2 extra to reach €30/qt. Bintje, on the other hand, remains steady at €25/qt. The varieties for the hardened skin market vary between €27 and €33/qt.

Germany
On the fresh market (Rhineland), prices remained unchanged for firm pulp at €28.00/qt and €26.00/qt for soft pulp on August 31st. For the early firm pulp, sold on the farm (Rhineland), prices ranged between €11.00 and €12.00/qt per bag of 25 kg (unchanged). Very strong market for early potatoes for the industry (fries). Various early varieties are at €26,00/qt, Agria/Zorba at €28,00/qt (+ €1), Fontane at €27,00/qt, and Innovator/Ivory Russet at €29,00/qt.

*you will have to deduct €1,00/a from these prices in their starting fields in the table above for sorting fees

Great Britain
Average producer price (all markets) week 34: €33,56/qt.
Strong markets in all segments, with a more wait-and-see demand for the bag market. Preparers for packaging continue to use old crops for some of their supply. The prices of the new crops are stable, and haven’t changed much during week 34. The industrial demand is more and more present, and buys various varieties (Maris Piper, Arcade, Amora between €31.25 and €33.50/qt). As observed, rains tend to increase yields, but problems with rounding (rejection-regrowth) are also increasingly reported (especially in Agria), mainly from non-irrigated plots.
