The Hassa district of Hatay, a city located in the southern border area of Turkey is very well known for its grape production, but mildew disease, due to heavy and irregular rains in recent months, disappointed the growers and resulted in significant losses in production.
The expected annual production from the district was around 100,000 tons, however, due to the aforementioned disease, the actual production was only 50,000 tons.
The production area in Hassa is around 500 million square feet and the price level at the grower is around 0.25 USD per kg.
