Danish fruit grower collected 100,000 euro in six hours

Fejø Frugt managed to collect 100,000 euro in cooperation with Coop crowdfunding to expand his organic orchard by 8.5 hectares. The money comes from 128 private sponsors who want to support the organic production and who will receive 3.25 per cent interest in return. Apple grower Laust Spandet Jensen of Fejø Frugt is happily surprised it went this quickly. “I don’t understand why this many people are interested. But Fejø is fairly well-known, and many people support organic production,” Laust says. With the money, he can expand his orchard by 8.5 hectares and plant apple trees for organic apple production.

It will take about five years before the apples are in shops.
