Argentina: First shipment of mandarins to China in a decade

The Minister of Agribusiness, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, will be in Concordia this Thursday to celebrate the reopening of the Chinese market for sweet Argentine citrus.

According to official sources, Etchevehere will arrive at the Argencitrus packing facility, which is located at kilometer 5 of Route 22 near the Inta Concordia experimental plant, at 3 pm in the afternoon.

The official visit coincides with a special event for the export sector: as Argentina is shipping its first container of mandarins to China in a decade, after this country reopened its doors to sweet Argentine citrus.

Etchevehere will be accompanied by the Secretary of Agroindustrial Markets, Marisa Bircher, and the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Guillermo Bernaudo, and will meet with the authorities of the Chamber of Citrus Exporters of the Northeast (Cecnea).

The National Senator, Alfredo De Angeli, as well as provincial and municipal authorities are also expected to participate in the event.
