Aguacates Tingüindin Gogar, México

"Interest in bringing Tingüindin avocados to all of Europe and Asia"

“Only recently, in 2016, we obtained the certification necessary from the Mexican government to be allowed to export. We started exporting to the Middle East, which is our main export destination. During year-round export, prices vary up to high prices if there are shortages. We cover the demand of our customers, which we currently have through intermediaries. Yet, we would like to try to export in a more direct way, in order to reduce the final price of the avocado”, explains Teresa Ocaranza Maciel from the Mexican company Aguacates Tingüindin Gogar.

The company started in 2010 with the harvest and marketing of Hass avocado locally in the state of Michaocán for two years. “Later we distributed the products at a national level. After three more years, we obtained the necessary certifications to be able to supply the main self-service and most prestigious stores in Mexico e.g. Comercial Mexicana, Wal-Mart and Soriana. Now we are able to export, apart from national trade our products go to Hong Kong, Singapore, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Manama Bahrain, Chicago USA, Canada, and Argentina.”

Located in Tingüindin, Michaocán, it’s is only three hours away from the capital Michoacana and two hours away from Uruapan. “We call this the world capital of avocado, as the main activity in this area is the cultivation of avocado and handmade bread.”

Asia Fruit Logistica

“Our mission has to fully satisfy our customers and final consumers with the best quality and the best price in the market and our suppliers with the best treatment and competitive prices to achieve an extraordinarily good commercial relationship for the entire chain of the sector”, concludes Teresa. “It’s going to be our first time visiting Asia and attending the Asia Fruit Logistica as an exhibitor, which is a great challenge. We hope that during this trip, we will meet customers and expand our client base. We are interested in bringing our avocado to all of Asia and Europe.”
