Spain: New proceedings regarding alleged abuse on seasonal workers

The Prosecutor's Office of Huelva is carrying out new proceedings regarding the case opened in the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 of Moguer for alleged sexual abuse on Moroccan seasonal workers, who were employed in a strawberry farm in the town.

As reported by the Prosecutor's Office, there has been a request for more statements from witnesses and people close to the victims, as well as from the only person investigated, a manager of the farm.

In late May, the Prosecutor's Office of Huelva had reported the Court about its on-going investigative proceedings on the alleged sexual abuse of Moroccan seasonal labourers working in strawberry farms.

So far, four Moroccan women have testified and all of them agreed that the alleged sexual abuse was carried out by the same person.

The statements were possible thanks to the investigations carried out by the National Police, which identified two of the victims, and by the Guardia Civil, which identified the other two women.
