"Last year, our citrus was affected by severe weather and pest diseases. However, thanks to the good weather this year, the trees have many fruits and the crops are growing well," said Ms. Liu Min from Sichuan Kangyuan Agricultural Products.
"Grapes and pears entered the market in the early June. The production volume of the pears is around 200 ton. Dragon fruit will enter the market in mid-July or early August. Production volume will increase due to the suitable weather."
"We've been planting grapes, pears and dragon fruits for the domestic market for more than three years. This year, due to the development of our skills, an enlargement of the cultivation area and the increased production volume, our products will face the market and consumers with great confidence."
"Other agricultural products haven't entered the market yet. Kiwifruit come in from August to December while the citrus will start from December. This year, both the production and quality of the kiwifruit will increase, which was due to our better planting skills, standardized planting and the new base we're building.
Since last year, Sichuan Kangyuan has exported red and yellow kiwi fruit to Europe. Their first successful export to Europe was sent to Holland train and received a warm welcome. "Our export season starts from mid-October. Last year, we mainly exported to Holland, while this year we are going to extend our range. Our production volume is high enough to meet the clients' demand of any country which needs kiwifruit," said Ms. Liu Min.
Sichuan Kangyuan farms on over 10 thousand mu of green cultivation base and employs three thousand farmers through cooperative agreements.
