Pagoda Dragon Boat Festival Report: No.1 fruit marketing channel

The Dragon Boat Festival [June 18th], a peak shopping period, is now coming to an end. The well-known fruit retail brand "Pagoda" recently drew the industry's attention when they announced their numbers for the 2018 Festival: the overall retail volume exceeded 45 million tons in three days, which is an increase of 328% in comparison with the same period last year. The number of pre-ordered items reached 720 thousand, which is an increase of 294% in comparison with the same period last year. 24% of that volume was sold online.

Pagoda also gained popularity on third-party platforms. Their sales volume on JD Home-delivery increased by 200%, while their external sales on Meituan increased by 300%. Data from third-party platforms shows that Pagoda is not only the number 1 fruit retailer, but also that they are far ahead of the others.

The Dragon Boat Festival is over, but fruit retail is still growing in intensity. People in the industry say that businesses who practice innovative retail should not compete with online platforms, but they should mutually complement each other with their respective strengths, encourage fruit retail, and strengthen their understanding of innovative retail methods.
