Lanxi bayberries will enter the market early as a result of excellent weather conditions earlier this year. The open-field bayberry harvest began at the end of May, while the greenhouse bayberry harvest began in mid-May. At the height of the season bayberries were sold at 100 yuan [15.56 USD] per kg. The production volume of the 'waterchestnut' bayberry was relatively large and the price reasonable.
The production volume of Dongkui bayberries was somewhat smaller this year as a result of poor weather conditions. Their price may increase later this season. The harvest season of Lanxi bayberries will last until June 25th. After Dongkui bayberries enter the market, the price will reach between 20 and 40 yuan [3.11-6.23 USD] per kg.
