Between January and April of this year, Peru exported 3,284,449 kilos of strawberries for an FOB value of US $ 5,917,399. These numbers show there has been a boom in exports, as the country exported 1,513,439 kilos of strawberries worth US $ 2,607,801 in the same period of 2017.
According to the Agrodata Peru website, in the first four months of 2018, the United States was the main destination market for this fruit, with US $1,274,000. It was followed by Canada (US $1,170,000), South Korea (US $746,000), Japan (US $666,000), the Netherlands (US $497,000), and Puerto Rico (US $118,000).
The leading exporting companies in this period were Mebol SAC with shipments of US $1,487,000; Frozen Foods SAC (US $1,045,000), Del Ande Alimentos SAC (US $948,000), Agroworld SAC (US $826,000) and Agropackers SAC (US $691,000).
