Sudden decline in fruit and veg exports between China's Dongning port and Russia

The purchasing power of the Russian people has decreased because the rouble was devalued, and as a result transport declined. Dongning port, on the northern border of China, exported 160 million yuan [21 million USD] worth of vegetables in April 2018, which is a decrease of 31.9% in comparison with the same period last year. Russia, which borders on the Chinese Heilongjiang Province, is the world's fifth largest fruit market. People consume 100 kg of fruit on average per year. They have great consumer potential in the fruit market.

Data from the Dongning Customs Office shows that Donging port exported 35 thousand tons of vegetables in April 2018 with an export value of 160 million yuan [21 million USD]. Those are respective decreases of 17.8% and 31.9% in comparison with the same period last year. The export volume of fresh and dried fruit and nuts reached 11 thousand tons with an export value of 57.41 million yuan [7.64 million USD], which are respective decreases of 16.2% and 22.3%.
