Organic banana producer now back to peak production

Organics Unlimited’s Mexico farms are back to peak production of organic bananas. April through September are typically the highest banana-producing months in Mexico for the San Diego-based grower and distributor of organic tropical fruit.

The welcome arrival of the spring season and warmer weather follows a winter season that saw cooler than normal temperatures.

“We’re very excited about our banana production being at peak levels in our Mexico operations,” said Mayra Velazquez de León, Organics Unlimited President and CEO. “Our healthy and great-tasting bananas experienced challenges this winter due to weather, but once again, we’re able to swiftly and consistently fulfill all orders and deliveries while being environmentally responsible.”

Organic bananas grown in Mexico are a primary focus for Organics Unlimited because its trucks can quickly deliver the freshest bananas to the marketplace and leave a much smaller ecological footprint compared to the competition.

Organics Unlimited grows certified organic bananas, as well as organic plantains and organic coconuts. All produce is grown in Colima, Mexico as well as Ecuador. The company said it incorporates sustainable practices throughout all of its growing, harvesting, packing and shipping operations while always keeping the health of its workers and the environment in mind.
