China: Dalian cherries enter their peak shipping period

China Southern in Dalian recently opened the annual transport season for cherries. The cherries from greenhouses have entered the market almost a month later than they did last year because of weather conditions. The cherry price is also higher than last year by 300%. The cherries that are currently being transported cost about 300 yuan [47.42 USD] per 0.5 kg. A China Southern employee of the Dalian branch office stated that their company guaranteed transport of more than 4 thousand kg of cherries per day between March 14th and March 19th. The cherries were mainly destined for Guangzhou, Xiamen, Changsha, and Urumqi.
