2017 was better than expected, with a 1.5% increase in consumption. 2018 is also looking good thanks to the increased purchasing power of families.

Negative terms such as "fear" or "crisis" are no longer used as much (in 2017, they were mentioned by 10 and 7.6% of interviewees respectively, while they were mentioned only by 4.5% in the new report), while "recovery" (15.4%), "change" (15.1%), "wealth" (10.3%) and "new" (7.9%) are growing.
Forecasts report that consumption should increase by 2.1%.
The over 50s are more confident compared to the younger generations. Surprisingly, southern Italy is driving "recovery" (a term mentioned by 18% of interviewees).
