US Customs:

1,055 pounds of marijuana found in avocado shipment

Officers found 1,055 pounds of marijuana within a shipment of avocados at the Pharr International Bridge, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The seizure occurred when a tractor-trailer with a shipment of avocados was given a secondary inspection.

Valleycentral.com learned CBP officers extracted 440 packages of marijuana from the shipment. The marijuana has a street value of $210,980.

The case remains under federal investigation.
