Peru: Non-traditional export volume up 7% in October 2017

Peru's non-traditional export volume increased by 7% last October compared to the same month in 2016, says the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics. In a report called "Evolution of Exports and Imports", it says October is the twelfth month of continuous growth in terms of exported volumes.

Shipments of frozen prawns (244.9%), shell-less prawn tails (152.2%), shell-on prawn tails (91.2%), blueberries (40.1%), asparagus (5.0%), and natural calcium phosphate (4.7%) stood out in this sense, reports Andina. On the other hand, the traditional exports volume slid 15.2% last October from the similar month in 2016. This drop was explained by lower export volumes of copper (-25.9%), petroleum derivatives (-8.6%), lead (-4.2%), natural gas (-27.0%), tin (-16.6%), fish meal (-38.2%), and fish oil (-21.8%).
