The price of the domestic baby spinach currently stands at 5 euros per kg, but is expected to rise to 6 or 7 euros per kilo during the pre-Christmas period. Italian spinach is available now as well. Its price is about 6 euros per kilo. Kiening: "Last year we got about 6 euros per kg at this time, but today’s prices are still satisfactory and above all: stable." The fairly high weekly sales of 40 to 50 boxes has meant that the direct marketer will only have baby spinach on offer again next week. “The plants have to regrow.”
