Organic Produce Summit names Susan Canales as President

Susan Canales has been named President of The Organic Produce Summit (OPS), the annual produce event dedicated exclusively to the $15 billion organic fresh produce industry.

Canales who has served as Director of Operations for the past two years will be responsible for overseeing all exhibitor and sponsor activities, while supporting the various educational components associated with OPS, including a series of field tours with some of the world’s most prominent organic fresh produce growers, shippers and processors.

“Susan has been instrumental in the success of OPS for the last two years. Her commitment to making the event impactful and exciting to all attendees is unmatched. She understands the various facets of the organic fresh produce industry and her leadership will be vital as OPS continues to grow in the coming years,” said Matt Seeley, founder of OPS.

The third annual Organic Produce Summit is slated for July 11-12 in Monterey, CA. The event includes informative educational breakout sessions, a series of thought-provoking and engaging key note presentations and a sold-out trade show floor. OPS 2018 will be held at the renovated Monterey Conference Center, in the heart of the nation’s organic fresh produce growing and production.

“I’m honored to be associated with an event the fresh produce industry has wholeheartedly embraced since its inception two years ago. Following the past two sold-out events, we are thrilled to be moving to the Monterey Conference Center, providing new and exciting opportunities for all attendees,” Canales said. “OPS 2018 will feature a trade show floor with 130 organic grower/shipper and processor exhibitors, and educational sessions covering a wide range of topics relevant to all segments of the organic fresh produce industry.”

Based on the success of the two previous Organic Produce Summits, Canales said over 100 retailers and buying organizations have already confirmed their attendance at next year’s event. “We are very pleased that the retail and buying community continues to see the value of OPS and the opportunity to network with organic fresh produce companies in the cradle of organic production,” Canales said. “We anticipate nearly 300 buyers in attendance this coming year. We’ve got some exciting activities planned for OPS 2018 and look forward to making the event as energetic and engaging as ever.”

While exhibition space for OPS 2018 is sold out, retailer and buying organization registration is currently open and general registration will open January 8. For more information, please visit .
