"The ginger export season starts in the middle of December. If there are no disturbances on the market, the coming ginger export season will be relatively steady," according to Ms. Dong Ruicai, CEO of Anqiu Sanhui Foods Co., Ltd.

"Even though the total ginger production area has increased, the heavy rain has affected the crop, leading to a decrease in production overall, but it is still similar to last year's. The ginger is now not as plump as the year before, but because there will be little rain in the near future, the quality will be more stable, and the ginger will do better in storage."

"Our ginger is exported under our own brand 'Three Hui' to well-known supermarket chains in the Netherlands, France, Italy, England, America, Canada and Japan, with Europe taking up the largest proportion of the export. Through many years of effort, our foreign markets have now relatively matured. In the future, while we are further developing our current customers, and steadying our foreign market share, we are also striving to open new markets."

"From my own experience, there are differences between foreign consumers in their purchasing processes. European consumers, for example, focus more on food safety, instead of on price or quality. In order to better satisfy our customers' demands, we are continuously improving as a supplier. Apart from having our own internal management system and complete traceability system, our customers can also trace back the entire production process, from the field to the export, with the number of their packaging. This includes which field the ginger comes from, where it was stored, for how long, when it was processed and how. Furthermore, we are also formulating and implementing a detailed record, based on the different demands of our customers."
