Turkish company opens the doors of its new packhouse

It's the beginning of the Citrus season and Aksun has officially moved to its new packhouse for citrus packing. Founded in 1945, Aksun has always found innovative ways to increase its market share in the Citrus market.

Aksun's aim has always been to deliver the best quality from Turkey and provide an economic boost to the Mediterranean region and Turkey's economy. With the help of its new packhouse, Aksun will be able to pack 1.5 million cartons per season increasing its capacity by 70%. The company extensively uses automation to reduce human error and increase customer satisfaction. To ensure the quality; every line has a dedicated quality inspector and a head inspector to review the general maintenance of quality.

Up to now, the company's main items have been Citrus fruits but, with the help of its new storage facilities, Aksun has started storing pomegranates for season-long export, as well as post-season.

Aksun's goal has always been to be respectful of the community and the environment. With that goal in mind, they have installed solar panels to have a self sustaining clean energy for the whole packhouse and for office use. The excess energy will also produce a significant income, boosting profits and reducing the packhouse costs.

In 2018, the company will be looking to increase its market share by another 12% and will focus on finding new markets to promote their wares.
