PinKids® to join forces with the minions to increase marketing reach
PinKids is launching packaging to celebrate the release of Despicable me 3. The scrummy little apple, is launching its themed packaging with Gru and his minions.
Available from November to January, the 3-month campaign will include trays of 4, 6 and 8 apples as well as pouchbags and collectors stickers on each apple.
"This new partnership means we can capitalise on the event to launch produce from our latest harvest and to attract young consumers to the fruit & veg aisle, so often ignored by this demographic," Pink Lady representatives told.
PinKids is the brainchild of Pink Lady producers. These apples, which are small in size, are marketed towards children, who may have trouble finishing a whole standard-sized apple. This helps keep less uneaten apple out of the bin, cutting down on food waste.
With the high performances of the past season : + 100% growth with 2750 tons + double the number of partner stores, PinKids intends to continue its growth. The brand hopes that its 5000 tons of small apples can provide a much needed boost to fruit & veg aisles which are in decline across Europe.
