Peru: Mango exports generated 213 million dollars

According to the Association of Exporters (ADEX), between January and August 2017, mango exports generated a turnover of US $ 213 million, i.e. 7.3% more than in the same period of the year past.

Fresh mango led the exports, generating sales of US $138,742,000 (accounting for 61.5% of the global amount). They were followed by exports of canned mango and mango juices, which accounted for 28% and 7% of total exports, respectively.

According to the Trade Intelligence System, ADEX Data Trade, The Netherlands was the main importer of Peruvian mango with 40.4% of the global invoices. They were followed by the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, and Canada. Peru exported mango to a total of 36 international destinations.

Between January and August, 174 Peruvian companies exported mango, including Camposol SA, Sunshine Export SAC, Dominus SAC, Frutas de Piura SAC, Sobifruits SAC, Passion Fresh SAC and Agroindustrias Golden Fresh SAC.

According to Customs, some domestic firms exported the mango in different presentations in the first eight months of this year, such as in tomato bruschetta with palm hearts and mango, mashed mango, yogurt, dehydrated mango, and frozen mango cubes.

The main variety of mango exported was the Kent variety.
