He has been the Senior Leader of Sales Teams at Del Monte Fresh Produce, Inc., Central American Produce and at Rosemont Farms. His most recent role in his career provided him the opportunity to be the General Manager, responsible for sales, marketing, logistics, and operations of the Del Monte distribution center in South Florida.

“Dave Guzi is just a great fit for J&J,” says Lynn Rundle, CEO of J&J Family of Farms. “He is a true professional, a leader who has impeccable integrity and a reputation for taking care of his people,” adds Rundle. “With the expansion of J&J in both the east coast and west coast we were looking for a growth leader.”

Dave will be managing the Western Division directly as part of his new role and will take over responsibility for the Western Division P&L for the company. Guzi will report directly to J&J’s CEO.

“I have been involved in South Florida production and also involved in leading sales and sourcing for companies off-shore and internationally,” Guzi commented. “This is just a great opportunity to use my experience to bring accretive value to a great organization.”

Mike Strickland
Strickland who grew up in the produce industry, brings over 30 years of experience to J&J. He has significant experience in international produce sales, having most recently worked at Marengo Foods, Produce Exchange and Mastronardi Produce.

Strickland is a serial entrepreneur and started the Nashville Tomato Company when he was 19 years old. He led the growth of the company which was eventually sold to Sysco/Freshpoint in 2011.

“His extensive experience in the west combined with his Tennessee roots make him uniquely qualified to help us accomplish our growth in sales objectives we have set for our Western Division,” said Rundle.

Strickland will report directly to Dave Guzi, Senior VP of Sales and will be based in McAllen, Texas. “This is a great opportunity for me to join a great sales team at J&J,” said Strickland. “I have known J&J for several years and look forward to growing the sales generated by the grower network of J&J, delivering into Nogales and McAllen.”
