AU: $7M coolstore to create 100 jobs in Victoria

A $7 million coolstore and packing shed project that is estimated to provide up to 100 jobs in peak season and up to 50 in the off-season is planned for construction in the town of Ardmona located in Victoria, Australia.

The planned coolstore and packing shed is set to be located on a site of a former nut orchard on the corner of Ardmona Rd and Midland Hwy.

The Prima Fresh Orchards & Cool Stores project would be developed on 14.32ha and the proposal totals 26640sqm (2.67ha) of building floor area with a maximum building height of 11.2m.

The development also proposes a total area of 57167sqm (5.72ha) which is 40 per cent of the land.

‘‘We are promoting businesses to set up in Shepparton,’’ Mayor Dinny Adem said.

‘‘We want the jobs here ... even construction is going to generate a lot of economic stimulus. To me, it (the proposal) ticked all the boxes.’’
