China: Dragon Fruit Brand Conference held in Nanning

The second China (Nanning) Dragon Fruit Brand Conference and the sixth member's meeting of the China Fruit Marketing Association were held simultaneously at the Wharton International Hotel in Nanning. The city's climate, with its hills and waters, clean air and light temperatures, is very suitable for growing dragon fruits. Nanning's dragon fruit production area is 10,100 hectares (101,000 mu) and has an annual production volume of 150,000 tons. It is the biggest dragon fruit production area in Guangxi.

Because of its suitable environment and large production, many high quality demonstration sites have emerged, such as Zhenqi, Jianian, Jinfu, Caigang, Longsui and Jinfoyuan. Here, the newest drip irrigation technologies and organic production technologies are being used.

The opening ceremony of the conference

In the morning, the mayor of Nanning first gave a speech. After that, the leader of the Guangxi Department of Agriculture and the secretary-general of the China Fruit Marketing Association, Lu Fangjiao, gave a speech to express his trust in the development of the Guangxi dragon fruit production.

The sixth member meeting of the China Fruit Marketing Association

Chen Dongkui, the representative of the Guangxi Characteristic Fruit Innovation Team, reported his "Analysis of China's current dragon fruit industry and its development prospects." His analysis pointed out that the weakness of the Chinese dragon fruit industry comes after picking, such as storage and keeping the fruit fresh. If we only do one of these successfully, we can already compete with Vietnamese dragon fruits. That is the key! In the afternoon, the sixth member's meeting of the China Fruit Marketing Association will begin as scheduled in the hotel.
