Average ginger price rises 25% in one month

According to statistics from Yi Mu Tian, recently, the ginger price has been rising slowly. On 30 June 2017, the average price was 2 yuan/500g. Compared to the same time last month, (1.6 yuan/500g.), this is a rise of 25%. Based on information from the production area in Shandong, the rising price has brought about an enormous growth in sales.

One reason that the ginger price is rising is that it was rather low before, so the farmers were reluctant to sell their produce. Because the supply did not meet the market demand, the price started to increase. Another reason is that individual investors saw the optimistic market price and wanted to buy more ginger. Because the market could not meet this demand, the price got higher as well.
