Dapple Dino is a new variety with mixed genes of plums and apricots. It has the flavor of apricots and the texture of plums, but is juicier than apricots and sweeter than plums, easily satisfying the needs of Asian consumers. The Dapple Dinos, which arrived in Shanghai this week, were the first batch of the season, but they have surprised the local buyers with their good flavor and therefore sell quickly. On the contrary, even though the taste of the first batch of Tulare Giant plums from the U.S. is not good enough, they still enjoyed smooth sales with the prices ranging between 660 and 680 yuan for size 90 ones.

As for avocados, the supply has decreased this week, and the majority come from Peru and differ in volumes from one brand to another. Because the overall supply is smaller than the market demands, the sales are going very well. By the end of this week, quality fruits from Peru have a stable price of 190 or 200 (boxes of 4kg), and those with average quality are available at 150 or 160 yuan.

As for citrus fruits, there are products from mainly the northern hemisphere in mainland China, all with ample supply including South African oranges and grapefruits, Egyptian oranges, Spanish oranges and Australian oranges. However, due to the rainy weather during the past two weeks with relatively lower temperature, the demand is not big and thus the sales volume of citrus fruit has been quite low. From the end of June to the beginning of July, the rainy weather will be gradually gone in Southern China and the temperature in Northern China will keep rising. Hence the sales of citrus fruit is expected to increase by then.
