Eating fruit and vegetables could help reduce stress

According to Kristin Filer, with Providence Medford Medical Center, the UK recently did a huge study that looked at people who ate 5-7 servings of fruit and vegetables daily and found that those who ate more fruit and vegetables, showed reduced signs of stress.

She says after 10 days, people reported that they had a huge increase in a feeling of vitality and flourishing in life, along with better motivation and mental clarity. Experts say the good feelings may have something to do with the amount of vitamins C and B in fruit and vegetables, along with antioxidants.

The study shows that complex carbohydrates may also contribute to the positive feelings because they have a longer impact on brain chemistry and provide longer lasting amounts of energy.
