Plans to work with green products in the future

"We are working to achieve Global GAP certifications."

"The high demand for bananas results in the search for new destinations to try to obtain a better opportunity to place the fruit abroad satisfying the requirements of our customers," said Ivan Santos, president of Corporación Agrícola Banagreen in Ecuador.

Corporacion Agricola Banagreen, was created in the province of El Oro in Ecuador. It was created in 2010, when its partners that produce the Cavindish banana variety saw the need to sell their products at a fair price and to satisfy customers or end consumers. In 2011 they had the need to become marketers and exporters, to place their fruit in international markets. They send their products to Chile, Italy, Algeria, Spain, Greece, China, Albania, United States, Belgium, Georgia, and the Netherlands, among other destinations. "We have to reach these markets with the quality which has always been expected by our customers at destination."

"At present, we plan to obtain the GlobalGap, Fairtrade and Organica certifications for our plantations. Our goal is to work better and care for the environment while offering a healthy unpolluted product, and doing so has made us become more aware of society and the future of our consumers," Ivan said.

Corporacion Agricola Banagreen exports 12-14 thousand boxes of bananas weekly to different markets worldwide. "We aim to continue increasing our productivity, which is why we are in search of new markets and customers for the sale of our product. We also take the opportunity to invite more producers who wish to be part of our family with the commitment of a better future."

The president, who has his administrative, technical and logistics personnel properly prepared to provide the best support and technical assistance in each of our processes concluded, "Everything we do is to have a final quality product. We have optimal soils for our production that we maintain with eco-friendly products to obtain a quality fruit that poses no risks for consumers."
