17 Fruitconsult BV, the Dutch Fruit Growers Organisation (NFO), the Central Advisory Service for Fruit Cultivation (CAF) and Wageningen University & Research (WUR) are organising open dags at the Randwijk Experimental Garden, to be held on 17-18 August.

This year, for the first time, two open days are being organised. The annual open day will be held on 17 August. This day is, as usual, aimed at Dutch and Belgian visitors. On 18 August, the Randwijk Experimental Garden will hold its first open day for its international colleagues. The organisers are expecting more than 600 visitors over the two days.

Programme for 17 August
On Thursday, the programme will consist of a tour, demonstration and business market. In the afternoon, there will be a tour focused on various themes. Among other things, the organic cultivation of Natyra under nets, trench cultivation and water supply systems will come under the spotlight. Attention will also be given to various mutations and varieties of apples and pears. In the evening there will be demonstrations about emission-limiting techniques and Project Fruit 4.0. In this project, methods to monitor blossom and fruit development by using relatively simple camera techniques, are being explored. During the breaks, it is possible to visit the business market and have something to eat and drink. The activities will end around 20:15, followed by a networking cocktail party.

The programme is as follows:
14:30: Arrival with coffee and tea / The Business market opens
15:00: Welcoming remarks
15:15: Tour
19: 00: Demonstrations
20:15: Networking cocktail party
