90% growth of Turkish fruit and veg exports to Russia between January and May

In the first 5 months of 2017, from 1 January to 31 May, Turkey exported 1 thousand 469 tonnes of quinces to Russia, for which it received 1 million 94 thousand 811 dollars.

Besides quinces, a total of 17 different fruits and vegetables were sold by Turkey to Russia in the same period, including lemons, mandarins, onions, grapefruits, apricots, peaches, oranges, cherries, cabbage, plums, potatoes, cauliflower, watermelons, melons, leeks, peppers, etc. In total, 215 thousand 379 tonnes of fruits and vegetables were exported to Russia worth 78 million 231 thousand 553 dollars.

Compared with the same period last year, the volume of exports of Turkish fruits and vegetables to Russia has increased in quantitative terms by 90% and in monetary terms by 58%. Last year, for instance, in the period from January to May, Turkey exported 998 tonnes of quinces worth 656 thousand 616 dollars.
