There were 200 international standard exhibition booths and various activities during the Expo.

On the afternoon of 25th May, the organizers hosted multiple promotional events for various fruit brands, during which over 100 wholesalers and exhibitors had the chance to talk face to face and exchange ideas.

On 26th May, all the exhibitors participated in the 2017 China Fruit Industry Development Seminar and shared ideas about the future of the fruit industry in China. At the same time, Jinyangcheng drafted a Proposal on the Self-regulation of the Chinese Fruit Industry, together with various regional organizations across the country, including Guangzhou Jiangnan Imported Fruit Trade Association, the Imported Fruit Committee of Shanghai Fruit Association, Jiangxiang Fruit Trade Association, the Major Business Alliance of the China Fruit Association and Wuhan Huanan Fruit Market. The proposal was aimed to facilitate the communication between different regions and accelerate the self-regulation process among businesses to promote the sustainable development of the fruit industry in China.

On both the 26th and 27th May, all the visitors were able to participate in WeChat activities in the Expo and win gift bags of fruits.

There were an estimated 5,000 to 8,000 distributors visiting the Expo, bringing a total trade of 80,000 tons of fruits worth a total of 560 million yuan. The trade would also contribute another 100 million yuan to other local projects.

The deputy secretary/mayor of Xiangtan Municipality Mr. Wensheng Tan expressed his best wishes to the Expo at the opening ceremony. He said that the Expo was not only an industry exhibition for the fruit market, but also an important attempt to strengthen the cooperation between domestic and foreign businesses and help the trade and logistics industry of Xiangtan City to further improve itself.

According to Mr. Jun Zhang, President of the Hunan Jinyang Green Produce Logistics Park Development Ltd., the Jinyang Project covers a total area of 1,500 acres and will be built in four stages. The first tier fruit wholesale market which has been used already covers an area of 400 acres with an investment of 780 million yuan.

Currently in the market, there are over 700 wholesalers, 400 stores in the trade area and 600 parking spots. More than 300 of those parking spots are used for fruit trade, and so far some of them are already taken by well-known fruit companies including Hunan Lvye Fruit, Guangdong Xinrongmao and Zhanhui. It is likely to become the biggest distribution center of imported fruit in Central China.

Mr. Moataz Hanafy, director of the Agriculture and Export Association of Egypt said that China is one of the biggest export markets of green produce from Egypt with a great potential to grow. Therefore, Egypt believes in the promising future of the cooperation between the two countries. The major fruits exported to China from there are oranges and grapes, and after over 10 years of trade, the total export has grown to 70,000 tons from the initial 5,000 tons. This year the number is estimated to go over 80,000 tons.
