Growing fruit & veg exports in Greece helps equalize trade balance

According to data from the Ministry of Rural Development, the agricultural balance of Greece has been re-equilabrated to - 0.5 billion € (US $ 0.56 billion) in 2016 from a low -2.4 billion euros (US $ 2.7 billion) in 2009.
 
Exports of Fruit & Vegetables contributed significantly to these results. In 2009, the Fruits & Vegetables balance was positive at 645 million euros (US $ 720 Million), in 2016 by more than 1.2 billion euros (US $ 1.34 Billion). Citrus Exports reached € 173.4 million, vegetables exports € 405.3 million and fruit exports hit € 489.3 million.
