Foundation stone laid for expansion Oskam’s commercial premises in Neerijnen

On Monday 29 May, Kees Oskam laid the foundation stone for the expansion of the existing commercial premises with about 3,500 additional square metres at a sub-location Neerijnen, the Netherlands. This new section should offer space to two modern sorting lines and a number of packing machines.

“The development process clearly cost time, and we even had to switch bankers to finance the project, but in the end, the Dutch ABN AMRO bank was prepared to head towards 2040 with Oskam,” Kees says. He explicitly chose a future without subsidies, and continues to trust in his own strength and ability. “That might be a tough struggle, but it’s the most righteous. With these investments focused on the future, I hope to make a considerable catch-up effort in the field of efficiency, and to continue serving our customers in the right way.”

In-house contractor Peelen&Van Selm from Vleuten is once again in charge, and will construct a reliable building that also does justice to the agrarian surroundings. The design takes into account the temporary underground storage of wastewater from the sorting lines, among other things. Completion could be possible mid-December 2017, depending on various external factors.
