Exotifruit announces their first Fairtrade certified limes

Exotifruit, an importer of Mexican limes into Europe has announced the first crop of Fairtrade certified limes. Grown in Martinez de la Torre, Mexico, the Fairtrade certified limes aim to meet the growing demands of the market place.

Growing popularity of Persian Limes
The popularity of Persian Limes has increased over recent years due to the fruits fresh and healthy flavour, lack of seeds and increased use in recipes and beverages according to Exotifruit.

The growing use of limes coupled with the consumer's increased awareness of where their food is sourced and the impact it has on producers, indicates that the Fairtrade alternative will be greatly received by customers.

“Exotifruit is confident that alongside the growing popularity for limes and increased consumer awareness, that the Fairtrade limes will be greatly received across Europe.”

With the arrival into Europe at the beginning of June 2017, the Fairtrade Limes will be available to customers all year round in various carton sizes and branding options. Direct shipping to the UK, Europe, the USA, Canada, South Korea and Japan will also be available.
