Driscoll's Californian strawberries have first public showing online at JD.com

Fresh Jingdong has formed a strategic partnership with America's largest berry producer, Driscoll's, under the banner of the investment company Fruit Day. Driscoll's owns a plantation with a history of one hundred years. Through the partnership they plan to send high quality strawberries from the sunny coast of California. At this moment the products are already available online in the region of Shanghai.

Driscoll's started in California and has been growing three kinds of strawberries in-house since 1904. Staff members of Driscoll's reveal that the choice to collaborate with JD.com has many objectives. First, they want to see the influence of JD.com's self-operating electronic store in China. Secondly, they want to develop a specialized capacity to build their own cold chain distribution system so they can ensure the taste and quality of imported fruits and satisfy the needs of Chinese consumers.

Guaranteed high quality of every hand-picked Driscoll's strawberry

Along with the rising living standards of Chinese citizens, more and more consumers favor imported fresh fruits with reliable quality and a good taste. Based on data of field observations, the sales volume of imported fresh fruits has grown by more than 50% in 2016.
