"Eminent Food's assortment of diverse tomatoes is constantly growing. Of course we see that they are replicated, but we can say we have the biggest choice and best variety. We can do this because our breeding company, Eminent Seeds, is continually working on developing and improving new and existing varieties", says Gert-Jan.
"Our assortment of peppers is also expanding. People want them to be spicier. At the moment, there is a big demand for the Carolina Reaper, the hottest pepper out there. In hindsight, we could have planted more of these. Of course, our crown jewels, the Tomberry Pearl tomato and Tinkerbell baby sweet pepper are selling very well", he says.
"An increasing number of Dutch and international retailers and food services companies are interested in our speciality varieties. We can, with the help of Dutch exporters, meet the demand our international clients. They are becoming increasingly aware of us via social media and our website. Dutch consumers can find us at our stand at the Libelle Summer Week. There the spotlight will be on the Tomberry and Tinkerbell", Gert-Jan concludes.
