Macfrut is increasingly an international hub. More and more international businesses are choosing the fair (10th-12th May) to reach foreign markets. A lot of Spanish leading companies have sent last-minute applications to find new commercial outlets.
The leading Spanish producers will therefore be among the exhibitors. Many come from Andalusia and will be part of the Hortiespana inter branch organisation stall. There will be the Unica Group cooperative, Agroponiente and Vegacanada (among the top five tomato and pepper producers).
Biosabor, specialising in organic production, also works in the fresh-cut and ready-to-eat sectors. Casi cooperativa agricola San Isidro is among the leading tomato producers, Fruva specialises in vegetables, Agrocoloris a certification body and Dutch seed company Rijk Zwaan also works in Almeria.
In addition, three institutions will also be attending: Hortiespana, inter branch organisation coordinating the stand; Coexphal, the agricultural association with the highest number of members and export-derived turnover in Spain; Aproa, the association of Spanish cooperatives. The Spanish attendance is coordinated by RinoBellini.
"The presence of Spanish companies is a testament of how the event has grown to become a point of access not only for the Italian market, but for international markets as well. Over forty countries will attend with producers and delegations. If we add the 1200 buyers invited, we can see how the fair has become truly international," explains Macfrut President Renzo Piraccini.
