Start of Ortolanda collaboration

As of today the Dutch radish breeders Cornelissen Fresh Food, Coolbergen and the Italian radish breeder Ortolanda will officially continue as 'Ortolanda'. With their new house style the companies are strengthening their long, intensive collaboration and will continue under one name in the future.

New logo in Italian spheres
Cornelissen Fresh Food from Melderslo and Coolbergen from Oude-Tonge founded the radish breeder Ortolanda in 2000 in Borgo Grappa in Italy. As of May 1 2017 the three companies will continue under one name: Ortolanda. The collaboration will result in Europe's largest, covered producer of various types of bush radish, loose radish, packaging, sortings and techniques. At the three locations 400 ha of radish is grown in total annually. Minimal gas is used and there is investment in sustainability through growing with solar power.

Italian appearance
"The finalising of the now 17 year collaboration between the radish growers required a collective appearance in which Ortolanda can continue to develop," says the company. "An appearance that emphasised the positioning and the ambitions of the company, such as the important cultivation location in Italy."

These elements are reflected in the house style with the colours red and green, which, apart from a red radish with green leaves, also symbolise the colours of the Italian flag. The two semi circles are two C's, for the families Cornelissen and Coolbergen. "The character of the logo focuses even more on the largest target audience for Ortolanda: the retailer," they explain. The new style has been carried across and can also be seen in the new website, packaging and transport. Under the umbrella name 'Ortolanda', the various locations will be designated as 'Ortolanda Melderslo', 'Ortolanda Oude-Tonge' and 'Ortolanda Borgo Grappa'.

From sneak preview to launch of the house style
After customers and contacts of Ortolanda got a sneak preview of the new house style at the fruit and vegetable fair in Berlin, there has been an (online) countdown to the actual launch of today's new look, on May 1st. All of the radish producers contacts have now been told of the new name and appearance.
