Rainforest Alliance uses ChainPoint for data collection

The Rainforest Alliance has chosen ChainPoint, a software company from Arnhem active in making chains more sustainable, as the supplier of their new software platform. The new platform, called Marketplace 2.0, is used to collect important data from various chains, such as bananas. Previously, data was kept in multiple applications. Now all data is collected in one central platform, from the start to the final product. In the future other raw materials or products will be added to the platform. This will allow for more insight and traceability in the global supply chains of ingredients for food and other products.

"A modern software platform for visibility and traceability is vital to be able to control the many chains we are active in," explains Kiku Loomis, Director of Claims, Traceability, and Trademarks at Rainforest Alliance. "It makes our processes more efficient, enables optimal data analysis and helps us to protect the Rainforest Alliance CertifiedTM brand."

Functions
The new platform is built on ChainPoint technology and offers the following functions to Rainforest Alliance:

  • Data collection in multiple supply chains, from beginning to end;
  • Data exchange with existing Rainforest Alliance systems;
  • Support for multiple raw materials and multiple supply chains;
  • Support for multiple traceability goals, such as tracing certificate holders, country of origin or based on the traceability models 'segregation' and mass balance'.
  • Keeping tabs on stock and volume control;
  • Automatic transaction validation;
  • Registration of product conversions including ratio controls;
  • Management of licensing agreements and approval for brand usage;
  • Multilingual and advanced authorisations.
