Food price index in Armenia decreases by 1.2%

The food price index in Armenia decreased by 1.2% in February, 2017 compared to January, according to data published by the National Statistical Service, reports “Armenpress”.



The decline of food prices is mainly linked with the decrease of prices for fruits and vegetables, dairy products, cheese and eggs. A 1.3% deflation was registered for fruits in February compared to January while the prices of vegetables significantly decreased by 5.6%. While prices for vegetables as a whole decreased, the price of potatoes increased by 4.7% in February compared to January.
