USA to aid ag development in Moldova with $21m project

The US Agency for International Development is providing Moldova with USD 21 million for development of the country's agricultural sector through the project "Improved agriculture in Moldova", reports UkrAgroConsult.

The project will be focused on trade extension and marketing communications strengthening, productivity increases, the creation of post-harvest infrastructure and the development of the private sector's capacity to meet international standards.

Producers of apples, table grapes, stone fruits and vegetables, grown in protected areas, will become the project’s beneficiaries. The main attention will be paid to the empowerment of women and young farmers.
