Malaysian pineapples set to enter China in March

If the government allows it, Chinese consumers will be able to taste Malaysian pineapples this March. The director general of the commitee for Malaysian pineapples says that the two countries are currently discussing the specific details of the quarantine procedure. China and Malaysia signed an agreement back in 2013 which stipulated that China required 100, 40-foot, containers of Malaysian pineapples every month.

The director general also revealed that he expects China to become the largest importer of Malaysian pineapples, replacing Singapore and the Middle East. According to him, the overseas market for pineapples is good. He hopes that more farmers will follow the growth of MD2 pineapples more closely.
