Euro-West buys Girsac packer from Jasa

During the Fruit Logistica, the deal between Euro-West and Jasa for the purchase of a new Girsac packing machine was toasted. “We did not yet have a Girsac packing machine but we did have a request from customers to pack citrus in Girsac. This investment is the first step in a series in order to renew our weighers,” says Marco Vijverberg from Euro-West.

Shaking on the deal: Robbert Reijgersberg and Marco Vijverberg from Euro-West, right, toasting with Piet and Sandra Pannekeet from Jasa.

The Girsac packer will be placed behind a Newtec weigher, and should be operational late in April. “We naturally invited tenders from multiple suppliers. Jasa was not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but we are always very satisfied with their service, and that is also worth a lot. We are very happy to also be able to offer this packing possibility to our customers,” says Marco.

According to Piet Pannekeet from Jasa, the Girsac is still the packaging most requested for citrus, besides the net packaging with clips. “It is a trend to communicate more on the packaging, and the Girsac net packaging with a band is also distinctive in that. Furthermore, it is possible to supply the packaging with a handle as well, although the capacity for that is slightly lower. We are happy that a loyal customer, such as Euro-West, has once again chosen us.”
